Description The North Lodge is a stone built, one bedroom, cottage sitting within it's own walled garden a few minutes walk up a private drive to Dissington Hall. Constructed circa 1870 the Lodge forms part of the original Dissington Estate and is within the listed curtilage of the Hall. The Lodge has recently been refurbished specifically for use by the owners and for wedding guests wishing to spend a few extra days in Northumberland. During the refurbishment an emphasis has been put on maintaining the authentic character of the Lodge, concentrating on quality and simplicity. Extensive use is made of natural stone and ceramic tiling with furnishings being of shaker style in hardwoods. The cosy living room is set off with a dressed stone inglenook fireplace and cast iron log burner. The Lodge consists of a good-sized living room containing a sofa bed and two armchairs dining table with chairs coffee table and sideboard. There is a spacious bedroom with double bed, dressing table, bedside table and hanging rail. The shower room is equipped with W.C., hand basin and high-pressure power shower. In the kitchen there is a range of fitted kitchen units with beech worktops and Belfast sink, cooker, hob and fridge. The kitchen is also equipped with a kettle, toaster and all crockery, cutlery and utensils to cater for four. Externally The Lodge is set in a small, secluded cottage garden. To the South-facing front elevation is a patio overlooking a glade and private woodland. Adjacent to the Lodge is parking for two cars. The lodge is designed and equipped for short stays for up to four people and is equipped accordingly Although the accommodation is all on one level there are steps within the layout of the property therefore we regret that it is not suitable for the infirm or for wheel chair users.
