Description

The cottage is an end terrace with white render and pink windowsills – you can’t miss it! It is at the end of the main street (the village is very small so it is almost the only street) near the Church. Renwick is very quiet and unspoilt there are probably more cows and sheep going up and down the road than cars. If you walk straight up the lane opposite it leads onto the Pennines with wonderful views over the Eden Valley to the Lake District.

The cottage has three bedrooms, 2 double and 1 small twin. There is a corner bath with electric shower in the bathroom (there is an outside loo in the end of the barn for the brave or desperate). There are 2 living rooms and a small kitchen. The lounge has an open fire and there is an electric stove in the dining room, the property also has night storage heaters. There is a small television with built in DVD and scart socket. There is a small garden at the side of the cottage. The yard at the back is a good place to sit and catch the sun. The end of the barn at the side of the property has space for storing bikes etc. The locals use the path at the front of the barn to play boules – this does not belong to us but they have been happy for us to join in. The boules are heavy and we have been asked to make sure children don’t play unsupervised.

There is no Pub in the village but excellent places to eat and drink are within three miles. The cottage has a dishwasher and the hot water is heated by electric immersion heater. We have ‘Economy 7’ – cheap power from 10pm – 12.30am and 2am – 4am, so we tend to set the hot water to come for a couple of hours in the night. The night storage heaters are not very adjustable but you can alter the input and output levels. There is portable electric heater if you need to boost the heating.
