Directions for the Ramblings in Renwick.
1. From Newcastle via Brampton Follow the A69 towards Carlisle. Turn-off right at Brampton. As you arrive in Brampton you turn left, left then immediate right then left again (all signposted B6413 to Castle Carrock), this takes you back under the A69. Follow the B6413 along the bottom of the Pennines until just after Croglin where there is a left turn signposted Renwick. As you arrive in Renwick there is a Church on the right and the cottage is the first cottage on the right hand-side of the main street.
2. From Newcastle via Alston The road goes over the Pennines-good views but a winding road, avoid in bad weather. Follow the A69 towards Carlisle. Turn-off left just before Haydon Bridge on the A686 to Alston. Drive through Alston and continue on the A686 passed the Hartside Café. As you start down into the Eden Valley there is a small turning on the right signposted Renwick-it is on a sharp bend in the road. As you arrive in Renwick the cottage is the last on the left of the main street before the Church.
3. From the South via the M6 Up the M6 to junction 40. At Penrith follow the signs for the A686 towards Alston. At Melmerby turn left signposted Gamblesby and Renwick. As you arrive in Renwick the cottage is the last on the left of the main street before the Church.
